South West Christian Church
Tue, Dec 8 2009
Over the years we have planted and adopted a number of churches throughout our State and beyond. There is something in our DNA that is fruitful when we plant. In more recent times we have begun to change our focus to an “extension” model. We started with extension “churches” which are similar to the satellite model. However we are fast shifting to the extension “service” model. An extension service is just that, another “service” of the church. A lot of the ministry provision and connection comes through South West Central, the administration, the finances, worship teams etc are provided by the central church. Our strategy involves releasing a “point” man who is the representative Pastor or leader for that extension service. We release a team to help establish the work who first meet together as a life group. The team and people who become part of the extension service ultimately are South West members, who also attend Combined Central functions. Extension services are designed to reach out in different locations to different people.
Our first extension service is at Wyndhamvale, 10 minutes away from our central church. This extension has been led by one of our ministry team, Ps Nathan Hawes, who along with his wife Brooke and son Elijah, are doing brilliant work. There are new people constantly coming as the work grows and extends the influence of our church in the South West of Melbourne. Our next extension is planned for Laverton, followed by Point Cook and beyond.
It is so exciting to go to the extension and see the energy and life. It feels like South West in every way.
Why not give it a go!
Expand your influence and grow your church all at the same time.
